Hopkins Homes

Award winning Hopkins Homes moved into their new headquarters in Melton, near Woodbridge, following an extensive refurbishment of the former Victorian hospital building. Office Interiors were retained to produce the design and specification and oversee implementation with Hopkins Homes carrying out the actual refurbishment work. The design concept was to give a light contemporary feel whilst retaining the Victorian features of the building.
A mixture of modern and traditional materials were used to achieve this. For example a glass and limestone entrance led into the reception area which had a solid oak floor with a stainless steel staircase leading to the 1st floor set against a Reglit glass wall. The purpose built reception desk was finished in oak with a limestone counter top.
Lighting was a particular feature with the use of large Scandinavian uplighters throughout the offices and meeting rooms. These pendant fittings worked very well with the high ceilings giving a warm diffused light from 4x55w low energy lamps.

Existing furniture was used in some of the cellular offices. Office Interiors supplied and installed new furniture in other areas including the open plan spaces, reception and meeting rooms.
